Maine has been drawing artists to its shores for centuries — and for good reason. The quality of light here is unlike anywhere else on the East Coast. It shifts with the fog, intensifies against the granite and dark spruce of the coastline, and turns golden in ways that make even an ordinary morning feel extraordinary.
I’ve lived in Maine most of my life, and the landscape has shaped my work more than any other influence. Whether I’m painting the rocky shoreline of Casco Bay, the rolling farmland of the midcoast, the deep green of a pine forest after rain, or the quiet stillness of the lake where I live, Maine is always present in my paintings.
This collection brings together my landscape works — original watercolors and acrylics that capture the natural beauty of the Maine coast, its forests, its mountains, and its changing seasons. Some are painted from life during plein air sessions. Others are painted from memory and reference in my studio, where I can take time to distill the feeling of a place into color and form.
If you love Maine, or if you simply love landscape art that feels alive with light and atmosphere, I think you’ll find something here that speaks to you.
