Light up the Room

Light up the Room does exactly what it says — a 12 × 12” original watercolor on premium paper built around saturated, warm floral color that lands before anything else in a space and stays there. Painted in Molly Frantzen’s Maine studio, the composition pulls from the warmer end of the floral palette: the pinks, corals, and yellows that watercolor renders with a brightness other mediums can’t quite match, pigment floating on the paper with a luminosity that comes from the medium itself. It works wherever a room needs a point of energy — above a desk, in a hallway, on a kitchen wall that’s been too neutral for too long.
